BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Aug. 2, 2012 – Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI), the world leader in indie book publishing, has announced a “first-look” partnership with Thruline Entertainment, a leading Hollywood management and production company. Under the terms of the agreement, Thruline will have the first review of all titles developed via ASI’s Book-to-Screen and Hollywood Trailer services for consideration as feature film or television projects.
“Authors are increasingly interested in leveraging their books into film and television properties,” said Keith Ogorek, senior VP of global marketing for Author Solutions, Inc. “Our partnership with Thruline Entertainment opens up tremendous opportunities for authors to further develop their content and get it in the hands of Hollywood decision makers.”
Thruline Entertainment is a full-service Hollywood management and production company whose talent and literary roster includes Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Annie Mumolo (“Bridesmaids”), Emmy-winning writer Kirk Ellis (“John Adams”), Emmy-winning writer Barry Julien (“The Colbert Report”), actor Michael Cera (“Juno,” “Superbad”), Emmy-nominated actor Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”), Emmy-winning actor Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”) and multiple Emmy-winning actor Allison Janney (“The West Wing”). Thruline’s production arm, Tagline Pictures, produces the hit USA Network series “Psych.”
“Author Solutions is an ideal Thruline client. They have quickly risen to the highest ranks of publishing and are poised to become a viable pipeline of material in the film and television marketplace,” said Ron West, Thruline’s managing partner.
As part of the first-look partnership agreement, Thruline will review all coverages, treatments, and screenplays that ASI adapts for its authors through their Book-to-Screen services, as well as all Hollywood Trailers, in an effort to uncover potential properties for film and/or television adaptation. Tagline is already developing a television series based on one title that came through the ASI pipeline entitled, Searching for Sassy by author Alyson Mead. In addition to consideration by Thruline, all Book-to-Screen and Hollywood Trailer products are also logged in ASI’s HollywoodPitch Database, a keyword/genre searchable website that is made available exclusively to working industry professionals as a means of uncovering available original material. ASI currently has over 120 entertainment professionals registered on the site.
