A Bloomington, Ind.-based independent book publisher today said it has signed an agreement with Amazon.com to distribute its four brands through the popular e-reader Kindle.

The Kindle, a combination software and hardware platform that displays electronic versions of books and other digital media, will sell Author Solutions, Inc. titles for $9.99 -- although each author can set his or her own price.

"The Kindle was a pioneer in the rapidly expanding eReader market, and we're pleased to be able to offer our authors' books through this platform," said Kevin Weiss, Author Solutions president and chief executive officer, in a statement today.

Author Solutions also operates office in Indianapolis and Milton Keynes, England, under the names AuthorHouse, iUniverse, Trafford Publishing and Xlibris. It puts out 20,000 new titles annually.
