Author Solutions, Inc. to Relocate iUniverse Operations to Indiana

Move Will Allow ASI to Offer An Increased Range of Services for Authors, Improve Efficiency

January 23, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI): the leading company in the world focused on helping authors publish, promote, and sell their books; announced Tuesday a plan to relocate iUniverse's operations from Lincoln, Neb., to Bloomington, Ind., effective March 31, 2008. All full-time employees at the publisher's Lincoln, Neb., headquarters will be offered positions in Indiana.

"Moving iUniverse's operations to Indiana will allow us to offer an increased range of services to our authors and make book production a more efficient process," said Kevin Weiss, ASI chief executive officer. "All iUniverse services; including editorial, sales, and marketing support will remain intact during the transition."

ASI acquired iUniverse, the world's second-largest self publisher, in September 2007. Combined with Bloomington-based AuthorHouse, the world leader in self-publishing and author-marketing services; and Wordclay, ASI companies published one out of every 17 U.S. book titles in 2007.

With synergy across brands, Weiss envisions a bright future for ASI in 2008. Current plans forecast ASI companies will publish nearly 20,000 titles in the coming year. In addition, ASI will introduce a range of new services to help more authors complete their manuscripts and reach their publishing goals.

"Our self-publishing brands are leading the way in changing the publishing industry. We expect 2008 to be a year of even greater growth and innovation," said Weiss.
